The boding in between diamond poly-crystal structure is made using a metal catalyst, which is generally cobalt. Among different parameters affecting PDC cutter longevity, diamond table thickness play an important roll. Thicker diamond table plus deeper leach concludes to higher drilling performance. Increased diamond volume and perceived improved toughness and wear resistance proved to be a benefit in certain applications
